Image requirements
We can make a puzzle direct from a digital image (scaled at a recommended 300dpi ensuring the image is large enough for the puzzle size you require) or from an original photograph (minimum size of 5 x 7” is recommended).
Our design department do their very best to colour match during reproduction of digital prints, however, from time to time the colour output produced may vary from what you see on your computer screen or printer. We always double check any images submitted and if we are concerned about the quality we will contact you before proceeding.
Please note our personalised puzzles are only currently offered in rectangular sizes so please do not crop your image into any other shape i.e. square or panoramic. If you have any queries or concerns then please contact us.
Image Quality Checking Online
To help you we will check the quality of your image when you have uploaded it online, we will also check the ratio so we can advise what level of cropping may occur. When you upload your image the total number of pixels will be calculated to determine the quality, this is done using the information that has been digitally stamped on it by your camera or device. Using this information means we can calculate how much we can enlarge your image and what puzzle size your image is suitable for. When you have uploaded your image on the product information page you will see one of the symbols shown in the table below against each size available for that product, this will allow you to make an informed decision when you place your order. See below for more information on what these symbols mean.
High Quality The image quality of your puzzle will be high quality
Average Quality The image quality of your puzzle will be average quality
Low Quality The image quality of your puzzle will be low quality, it is advisable to submit a higher quality image however you can choose to proceed with your order if low image quality is acceptable.
Image not suitable The image you have uploaded is not suitable for the size, please upload a higher quality image to order size.
These are only guidelines and if you are unsure then please contact us for more help.
Please note that some digital files will not have pixel information stamped on them so we won't be able to give you a result on quality or the ratio suitability, you can continue to choose your size anyway or contact us for advice.

How to create your personal puzzle
Step 1: Check the quality of your image of a digital image Resolution is key and we recommend 300dpi at full size for the best results. You should also consider the following points when submitting your image: 1) Is the image sharp and clear at full size? 2) Is the file big enough to be blown up to the size puzzle you want (dimensions are shown within the product description pages)? If you are not sure just upload or send us the unedited image direct from your camera or memory card. 3) Is the photograph your own or copyright free? We are unable to reproduce copyrighted images unless authorised by the copyright holder. 4) Is there enough of a border around the picture to allow for cropping when we cut the puzzle? Please be aware that when your puzzle is cut approximately 5mm will be trimmed off each edge. It is important to consider this when submitting collages or images where there might be important detail near the edge. Please note the dimensions within the product description pages are finished sizes and do not include any bleed.
Step 2: Sending us your image You can submit your image to us in 4 different ways: 1) Upload your digital image online, select the product you want first here If your file is very large the upload may time out but you can use one of the alternative methods below to submit your image to us. 2) E-mail your digital image to us at images@jigsaws.co.uk Please ensure that you include your name, address, contact details and information on what size puzzle you would like and we will contact you to process your order. 3) Post your digital image to us on disc You can post us your digital image on disc, visit contact us for address details. We return all discs with the order; please let us know if they need to be returned to an address different to delivery. Please ensure that your write all your details on any discs submitted to enable us to identify it. 4) Post your original photograph to us You can post your original photograph to us, visit contact us for address details. We return all original photographs with the order; please let us know if they need to be returned to an address different to delivery.
Step 3: Complete your order! If you have e-mailed or posted your image to us we will be in touch to take payment details so we can process your order. If you have uploaded your image online simply select the size puzzle you want, add to your basket and proceed to the checkout!
